I have a 92 samurai fuel injected. started running poorly and black soot comiing out of tail pipe. My mechanic thought it was the fuel pressure regulator but after putting one on still same thing. The problem, whatever it is is fouling out the sparkplugs. Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to the problem, I would appreciate the help!

its running rich and id be surprised if t was fuel injected......

probably the choke not disengaging. check all the vacuum pipes around the carb first as well as the air filter and cold air feed valve

said "HOOD", id guess the u.s.a.

the later sammys were efi, rare as rockin horse poo over here.

could be a faulty lambda sensor causing it to run rich. could also be bad fuel, dirty air filter and so on.

how do you mean "running poorly"? lack of power? flat sopt at around 3000rpm?
