Hi guys, I'm after some advice on getting more power and possibly better economy out of my vit.  I currently have a fully standard 2007 3dr 1.6 VVT plus.
I've looked at K&N/Green filters but can't seem to get a definate answer of if these are worth the money and if they will actually give me what I'm after.  I guess I really need an induction kit, chips, exhaust etc but don't want to be spending loads of cash and I'm not after making it in to a speed demon but just want a little bit more power and more miles for my bucks.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

If you want it to go faster it will cost money, no way round it, a silly air filter wont make any difference other than letting more crud into the engine and wearing it out faster.

if you want more economy, lose weight, pump your tyres up harder, empty the boot and google for "hypermiling" techniques.

you've bought the wrong car to go fast or be economical in though.

here ya go.

Panel filters are fine as they use the factory airbox setup there by cutting down on heat soak and are more protected from water and muck than a open filter, your only ever get 1-2bhp over a standard filter at the most.

If your looking for free power, a simple service and maybe adding a snoakle to get cooler air directly into your air box other than that your looking at spending money

swift gti engine swap = more power/faster but less torque/mpg

you cant have it both ways unless you go diesel powered.....

which would you rather have, more power or more mpg?
