i have just brought a t reg 1.6 vitara i was wondering how good it actuallys is off road, iv taken it on some tracks but nothing to heavy and my 4 wheel drive is down right now, but neer to me is a fairly hard track wet and deep mud. My fiend owns a big rangerover with dirt tires ect he copes ok. i dont want to look like a complete fall, and kep getting stuck. So do i need to mod it? some people say there rubish and some say there really good modded and standerd. I understand they are no landrover but shorely cant be far off.? since i was a boy i wanted a vitara now im 21 and have one im really beginning to dout it. Cheap mods or keep standard??? or scrap it and go back to a normal car, even tho i love to off road? |

correct, theyre no land rover
thats because in standard form against a landrover, the sj or samurai will pi55 all over the landy.
modding is a matter of choice but the first thing to look at is tyres. from there, its all down to where you want to go and what your budget is _________________ the car in front is a toyota...
the car pulling it out of the mud is a suzuki |

I put mud terrains on mine and it was fine at a wet and slippy pay and play day, it was ground clearance under the diffs and chassis that got me stuck twice, i would advise fit some good tyres first, and then get it a few inches higher if you can, im gonna jack mine up a couple of inches and then fit a rear LSD after that. _________________

got Khumo KL71's on mine, better on road than the cheap road tyres it had on it before. _________________

I'm running Colway C-trax 235/70/16 on mine 16's due to it being a LWB
there a lot like the general grabber patten and not to bad on the road but fairly dig in.

Get some grand vit springs and chuck them on this will lift your vit by 2" with no other mods needed for more articulation extedn your shocks and remove anti roll bars |

Unbolt the hub, pull it apart, clean it up, regrease it, re-assemble it, bolt it back on. They are a very simple mechanism that you will quickly figure out once you have it apart. |
