Hi, I have a 4u '98 Vitara and the hazard switch on top of the steering column has stopped working. I still have indicators left/right. I've taken the steering column apart thinking I could just replace the switch but it doesn't look possible.

Can anyone help please diagnose if the switch is faulty and give advise how to remove/replace? I cannot find anything on the net having googled for hours.

Thanks,

Hi all, I know this was my first post but I hope it not to be my last and wish to help and contribute. But this switch is driving me nuts. So if anyone can help or point me in the direction of help it would be appreciated. Thanks.

it could just be that the switch has died.

if you need to replace it, its a complete stalk assembly im afraid Sad

Zocko, thank you for response. I thought it might be the chase, looking at it. I was thinking of creating a new switch and running the cables elsewhere. Do you know if this is possible, easy and where I could get the wiring diagram to do it?

Thanks again.
