Hi There!
i recently bought a Vitara JX S/TOP Fat Boy 1998(private sale) on test drive it had stiff gears but 4wd selection perfect and no popping out of gears. i then decided to put a new gear box in (for comfort of drive) and this is where my sorry tale begins Sad ! I took it to a local (so called gear box specialist) garage, a recon suzuki vitara gearbox was sourced and fitted but they were unable to fit it to the propshaft and alledgedly tried their best to source the correct propshaft. after weeks of to-ing and fro-ing (and a load of lies!) i managed to rescue my Vitara from their useless clutches and get it to a local propshaft specialist ( by this time the first garage had done their best to break a few other things on her and she was in a very poor state),they then sourced the correct (very expensive) propshaft for the current gearbox but this has led to now not being able to change out of 2wd, engine over revving and a back end that sways all over the road. I have spoken with a few people who have said i would need another new gearbox and propshaft and this could solve my problem. i have spent over £800 (not) fixing my car and am now desperate for some 'sound' advise on what to do for hopefully not too much more money Rolling Eyes any replies will be gratefully received Very Happy
Trude
