Hi, I'm from Port Talbot. The engine is in a 1995 cc vitara but it seems to be a canadian one as it doesnt have a crank shaft or cam shaft, but another type of shaft that works the both, this is only in a canadian engine apparently. other than that, i don't know anything else about it sorry! |

take a photo of the engine if you can, sounds like you may be mistaken, any piston engine needs a crankshaft and almost all of them have a camshaft although it can be in different places and there can be different amounts of them. _________________

I'll take a photo tomorrow but the engine is registered as canadian and we had terrible trouble getting the part as its neither a crankshaft or cam shaft. The garage had to order it from abroad in the end. would a complete engine have to be canadian or could a normal one be put in?? sorry to sound to thick!! |

Im not a Vitara expert, cant see anything on the web about a specific candian engine, but any engine can have different parts fitted in it depending on where it is being sold as they have to comply with different rules and regulations.
It may even be as simple as the chassis number not showing up on UK parts databases so the dealers are unwilling to look for parts, happens to me all the time 'cos mine was built in Spain, my local dealer wont even look the parts numbers up for me. _________________
