I was thinking of fitting a 12V electric fan to my vitara, finding a fan is easy, the harder part is getting the thermostatic switching right.

I have found this:
http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Fan%2025mm.asp

Fan 1: ON at 88degrees, off at 83 Fan 2: ON at 97 and OFF at 87.... are these ok temperatures to be used with a 1.6 vitara engine?

I could put one of these in the bottom hose and run 1 or even two fans off the thermostat they provide. But this would cost £35.

Are there any other hopefully cheaper options for controlling the fan thermostatically??

Thanks, Christian.

Whats wrong with your eyes? Just wire the fan to a fused switch in the cabin somewhere and keep an eye on the temperature, simple
