Hi all,
this may sound a very silly question but seeing as i'm fairly new to vitara ownership I have one question. When do I use 4WD (Low range) and what is it's purpose?
You may laugh but as I don't know, then I must ask!
Thanks all.

Im not laughin, cos I'd like to see what the knowledge says too. At risk of being a threadjacker, would also like to know what I do in snow bout 4wd, no grit where I live- no grit where I work- but I drive through a gritted little town on the way. Do I engage4, disengage then engage again? Dont want to damage me bits but dont want to be outa control either. |

you use 4x4 mode in snow and off road.4 snow on a normal road use high.if you go down a steep hill swap to low range 2nd and use eng.braking not your foot brake.off road use high,if you get to some hills and need some control go over to low.do not use 4x4 on a wet road you will wind up the transmission as our suks dont come with lsd`s.when finished with 4x4 if you have auto front hubs reverse back around 5 feet you should hear em click off.manual move switch on hub.if you have mannual hubs dont 4get to engage them before going into 4wd drive, otherwise you will still be in 2wd. |
