Couple dodge phone pics from when i had first got it home.
I got it from a mate for $1800, it needed some love
Before the money had cleared into his accoundt and before i took possession i got some seats for the front,
out of a late model GV3
I sold my sierra, but kept my mud tyres coz they had plenty of tread left and goodyear stopped making those mtr's
Thats better!
This is not
I ordered a calmini 3" super articulation kit to replace the shot 300,000 km old suspension and to fit the 30" MTR's
I got some duraflares to cover the tyres and ordered some new carpet, as the stuff in it was stuffed
Ripped the seats out and carpet
Had a look at what i can do to set up the new seats, in one word -ITS GONNA BE A *beep* Seats are just slightly wider than stock and i'll have to be millimetre perfect to get them to fit.

The Calmini kit arrived not long after
Front
And drivers side rear is in
Ok the cal kit is all finished, whilst the rear wheels were off i also put the duraflares on then jacked up the front and put those ones on.
How it sits now
Got a camber issue on the passenger side, its nowhere near as bad on the drivers side.
Ok, the carpet is complete now and today ive got the passenger seat fitted.
Had a few hiccups but its all sweet and fits beautifully, very comfy and the colour suits the interior well.
Also put some hinges on the centre console compartment, opens up from the rear end now wich suits the auxillary power plugs that were already in there
The seats are from a 2008 SWB grand vitara that had only done 800kms before being ripped out.
Fitted my new reverse lights today by replacing the rear fog lights, and started on my flaps
Reverse lights will leave the others for dead, they were bright during the day compared to the originals.
Also picked up a new aerial, so that will be done soon. |

Ok heres a pic of tint and de pin striped. Have got all the striping off both sides, but only got the adhesive off the passenger side.
Shovel mounted
I fitted an awning
New steering wheel
Some urban flex
Fitted an oricom uhf and benelec 3db-6db antenna today.
Limited for positions in the vitara, so at the moment have put it here till i work out something better.
Well the vits first real trip turned out to be great, very happy with how it went.
No problems, that ive found.
The dunes down at beachport 8)
Went fishing over kangaroo island and took the canoe
Looking sweet from the water 8)
I got some all terrains so i dont wear out the mud tyres, coz its my daily driver and work car.

Ok, had a lull in the weather so i got stuck into my awning lighting.
Put a switch inside the back passenger door
And a plug just above the door
This stuff rules, it can be cut every 3rd LED and has 3M sticky backing!
I cut it to length and stuck it along the underneath the aluminium awning body.
Just need to put some flexi cover over the wires to the strip.
Throws out awesome light, very happy!
Well ive finished the lighting off, rear cargo section is done.
Lights it up well
Have enough of the strip left to maybe turn them into some audi style parkers up front 8)
Oh and wheels arent white now
Ok i raided the wreckers this morning, got some rear calipers off a 92 Galant for a rear disc conversion 8) Just need to order the kit from BenT now
Woke up full of motivation this morning and made a tailgate table
Disc conversion arrived
Snorkel added
Reverse camera and HD mirror monitor and Digital TV.
Installed the reversing camera and mirror monitor aswell as the dvd player.
The camera works very well, its rigged up so when i select reverse it turns on.
The mirror has AV playback, tested it with the dvd player and with a photo slide show from the flash drive in the usb port on the dvd player.

Disc conversion fitted
Was a little fiddly, but overall not too bad.
Had to to modify the fingers on the handbrake cable(in the red circle)
I had to grind a little off them so that they could spread and stop the cable from pulling out the bracket.
The only thing i'll have to play with is where the handbrake cables now sit, they used to come over the top of the trailing arm and where bracketed to the arm now they sit lower and the rubber brackets cant really be used because of the crazy bends it puts on em. |

Cheers guys,
The black rims, actually both sets started off white are known as Sunraysia's or Steel rims here.
Not sure you guys or anyone does them oversea's now you mention it?
It must be an australian thing? They're strong cheap steel rims that just about every rim/mag manufacturer here has in their range.
They come in a huge range of sizes and offsets, and because most people paint them they have started bringing them out already painted black, but at an extra cost.
Some people get the powder coated but i just use a can of spray paint, cheap and if you spin up on a rock its an easy fix.

Nice little truck, we call those rims 8 spokes over here, most famously made by Weller Wheels, they made em to fit everything from Minis to 4x4s to full size vans. |

A few pics from the last trip out to morgan. We had big storms up the riverland, flattening wheat crops and flooding some of the small towns out that way.
It caused alot of wash outs on tracks that were usually drivable.

Love the awning , lighting & rear door shelf!!
Is there a make/model/website for the awnings & lights? Shipping to the UK might make it costly.....ho hum! |

The model awning i got was from TJM - Red centa Winton 2M. http://www.tjm.com.au/#prod_camp_1.htm
It cost $258 instead of $315 because of a magazine promotion.
ARB and Ironman do them here is australia, th ARB and TJM ones come from the same factory just have a different cover on them. Some companies dont do a 2m one, they only have a 2.5m one which is to long for a vitara.
The LED's are just off ebay, 5m roll for just under $60 delivered. |
