Hi guys,
We are having a terrible time with the snow in Scotland just now so I have bought a Vitara fat boy for the Mrs and I to plod about in.
I picked it up yesterday and whilst driving it back up the motorway it was pulling me all over the place, quite dangerous in fact. The steering wheel is sitting off centre and seems to respond some times and then not as responsive at others and was very light. It has power steering and has 17 inch alloys on it with 255 tyres.
I am no mechanic, but before I let the Mrs in it, I would like to know if anybody has had an experience with this.
Thanks. |

I'm no expert but most definately say, "Get some narrower wheels and tyres on it!"
Sounds like tram linning to me. My Suzuki Carry did it even more than standard when I fitted slighly wider alloys and Tyres.
My MX5 did the same with wider tyres.
My Merc does to an extent.
My Jimny follows any 'tram lines', pot holes and ripples in the road.
I'm sure someone will be along with more expertise to tell you.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
Oh, Welcome to the Forum.

the other thing to check is all your ball joints under the front end.
if any have play, it gets magnified and feels very floaty (even more than usual) _________________ the car in front is a toyota...
the car pulling it out of the mud is a suzuki |
