Hi ive just recently brought and suzuki vitara 4u2 1.6 JX year 2000 on a x reg plate hard top 3 door jeep, When test driving it it was fine untill you stopped and it was shakeing a bit so i asked the owner why it was doing the for he said it was turn down a bit to get it througth the mot emissions. it was moted the week before i brought it. So dopey me believed him.

ive just been recently investigating and noticed the 3rd cylender spark plug isnt working. So i changed the spark plugs around put the 3rd cylender spark plug what isnt working in 4th cylender head and this works so it isnt the spark plug at fault. I also tryed a working spark plug in cylender 3 but had no luck. i check the dizzy cap and lead seems fine. So i think the engine is stuffed . It runs well when moving just when you stop it shakes

So ill be on the look out for a new engine. i was looking at the engine bay and it looks fairly simple to remove the engine correct me if im wrong. The problem i have is putting a new engine in. Im worried about the ecu system. If i got another engine is it a straight swap or does it need and ecu that the new engine come with to start it.

I dont no nothing about engines i just heard that on modern engines theres more electronics and is not as easy to change as older engines.

Thanks
