Howdy folks. I've signed up to ask a question on behalf of a friend who has a 'T' reg Vitara soft top and a problem securing the roll down rear section.

The two clips into which the rod at the bottom of this section go have snapped. I don't know their proper name but they are the plastic pieces fitted either side of the rear door, on top of each rear quarter panel. I initially tried glueing them but my suspicions were realised when the glue failed. I'm inclined to next try some kind of strengthening plate rivetted in position but there's little or no room for this so replacement seems the only option. A fix is needed as rain, snow, sleet, locusts and frogs are pouring into the boot area and the carpet's already a goner.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks Dai.

Not so far. They all seem to be broken or the scrappies can't be bothered to remove such small parts. Personally I'm up for using a nail gun and silicon but some people can be so prissy about their cars  Twisted Evil
