Heater wont work

Was driving today (hot weather) and I decided to try out the heater (as you do).
I notice the engine keeps its cool well even whilst in a jam, but even with the heater on full it blasts out cold air.
I suppose what it does show to me is how good the ventilation is as I had no apparent 'heat soak' from the engine.
Any ideas as to why the heater wont work? It's not essential now but in winter months it would be nice to have a bit of defrost.

might be the control valve....

get someone to move the temp lever while you look at the pipes into the bulkhead from the engine bay. you should see the end of the cable moving the vlave back and fro

I had a look at the control valve and it moved, but still no heat. Further investigation needed I think
