if I pull away smoothly my vit is ok, if I accelerate, then off the gas, then hit it again, I get a loud clunk/bang. Happens everytime I change gear, I have to make the change as gentle as possible and its ok, do a normal change and theres a bang as I pull into the next gear.
any ideas? |

Just guessing as I'm no mechanic, have you checked the gearbox / transfer box mountings? _________________ Alan

Check the engine mounts and where the gearbox mounts to the chassis are nice and tight/
AND check that the bolts between the rear prop and rear diff are tight.
AND check the front axle mount bolts, the ones going into the housing are tight and the bolts that go through the chassis and the bushes for them.l
AND check the wishbone bolts and buses.. bolts are tight and no play.. bushes could be knackered...
AND check the rear castor arm botls and bushes and could be loose/nackered or both.
AND check the shock bushes and bolts.
Hope this helps just trying to show how mty thought process would go if i had the same problem...
Cheers,
Christian. |
