when me and Mikaela have been driving the Vit we've both realised there is quite a bit of play in the steering, more than I'd expect even from a car of its age. I'm no master mechanic, but the guys at work know what they are doing, especially on 4x4's, what should I be looking at in terms of losing some of the play and making the steering wheel a little more responsive to the actual steering _________________ - Nick |

Vits have a little bit of play because they have a steering box these always feel a fair bit slacker than a rack, just one of the many vit characteristics. _________________ There not canoes more of a snorkel and aero aid rolled into one |

you may have an adjuster on the top of the steering box which shold take out some play, also, check all your linkages and ball joints are tight.
if theyre loose, its not that expensive to replace them one at a time but dont forget, any time you 'adjust' your steering, it may affect your tracking _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

I would recommend that you ensure that your tyres are only inflated to 23 PSI and tighten the adjuster screw on top of the steering box. This should help out the steering |
