what calipers did you use and did it fix it Very Happy

I got two really tatty Girling calipers for a fiver for the pair from a guy over the 4x4 club I belong to in Daventry.
I spent a weekend disassembling them, cleaning, painting and reassembling them with reconditioning kits and new pads and they are literally like new and they stop perfect. It was well worth the effort.
There's some pics of them in this thread.

flexi hoses

theyve prob perished and collapsed in on themselves.

change them and itll prob cure the problem.

if youre unsure, take one off (stop the fluid running out completely with a water balloon over the end) and see if you can get an airline to blow through it.

its common on onld hoses for the inner wall to swell up and go spongy, it constricts the flow and causes binding and often other symptoms.

well i put braided hose on today and the problem has lessened to the point where it would not bother me but it still pulls slightly in diffrent directions, god knows why,new calipers, new hoses and bled till it cried!!!

Maybe your steering geometry is out a bit. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was coz I've seen your offroad driving techniques and I'm surprised your jeep isn't bent and twisted in every direction, not to mention you are always taking stuff off and bolting stuff on, it just might need re-setting  Laughing

Well you're a bit more nutty than me when it comes to driving. I'm more the careful, technical type, you're just flat out and don't worry about it  Laughing
