That sounds a bit odd. If you can hear them then they should really be able to hear you. Did you fit the CB yourself?

Is it definately transmitting?
Have you had the arial "tuned" with an SWR meter?

I've just bought a Intek M-120 plus  Laughing
It came as a complete package from RoadKing. It's probably a bit poo compared to some, but it does me fine for offroading and greenlaning. Gives me communications with people upto about 3 miles away.

I'm pretty sure you can't.
You can get nicked for eating a chocolate bar whilst driving if they catch you and want to be funny. I think they call it driving without due care and attention or something like that.
It's useful to have when offroading though so you can stay in communication with your group of mates, especially if you're prone to getting stuck!
Probably best to just not get caught while driving on the road  Wink

you cant use it while driving on the road, its the same charge as using a mobile which is oficially "using portable equipment capable of transmitting a radio signal while operating a motor vehicle".

so 3 points and £60 on the spot!

someone said you can use it, if you hold the handle thing on your lap, and push the button to talk, but that still sounds illegal to me
