Liam why did you decide to swap your Samurai transfer box for the 410 transfer box? _________________ Alan

it gives you lower gear ratios to maintain the power lost from putting on bigger wheels.
it also moves the handbrake up from the rear wheels to the gearbox. _________________ the car in front is a toyota...

I remember you saying about putting a 410 box in but couldn't remember why it was advantageous, now I know _________________ Alan

Is there a way to tell the difference, still trying to find out what parts are orignal on my LJ80, i know the engine is not 797cc but the 970cc (classed as a 1ltr) which i think is the same engine as the SJ410. _________________

Gentlepersons, ive swapped mine this morning, took 50 minutes in and out, but, and i say but as i dont know , what are the physical differences between the two transfer cases when looking at them from the outside??
I ask as although there is a marked improvement in forward motion in my sammy,i am not sure if it is down to the fact that we greased up all the props before putting them back in so everything moves as free as it should.
The difference is very noticeable and it no longer feels as though im driving with my foot on the brakes!!
However,i never touched the handbrake,it is still on the rear axle ,i was informed that it was a 410 from a bloke that i bought other stuff from and had no issues with .
Do you have to move the handbrake or have i had my rectum felt a little bit _________________ Ive created a monster............. |

Alright Liam, I don't know if they're all like it but the transfer box on my SJ410 has a drum brake on the back end of it which is the cars handbrake.
This picture is a bit poo, but I think you can see what I mean.
