Has anyone been to this club before?
Daventry 4x4 club
It's only around the corner from my house and I didn't even know existed until the other day.
I emailed them for info as no one's ever there and they emailed back this info:
The track is normally open on the 2nd Sunday of each month and runs from 10.00 to 15.00, the club meeting is held on the 1st Sunday of each month, this is at a local pub and this is where we discus coming matters, green lane outings and so on, the track is suitable for any four wheel drive vehicle as the terrain varies from mild to wild, and if you were to come then somebody with a good knowledge of the track would be on hand for advise.
I've climbed over the fence and had a good look around, and it looks excellent. I might go over this weekend as it's the 2nd Sunday in this month and see what they get up to. _________________ Alan

After Whaddon today I went to the meeting held by the Daventry 4x4 club.
It was very well organised and excellent fun.
The club is small with an excellent team spirit, everyone knows everyone and they are very friendly and helpful.
There are some excellent drivers and so novices with all sort of vehicles.
Today they were where doing trials where they have a course marked out with obstacles of varying levels of difficulty. Each driver drives the course one way and then they reverse the course. Each run is marked with penalties for stops, shunts, hitting a gate, missing a gate, needing a tow out etc. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place drivers receive a cash prize (beer money amounts).
They travel all over the country going green laneing and attending pay & play sites when they aren't at their own course in Daventry.
Below are a few pics from today.

Wayne, it's you!! I couldn't remember your name from Whaddon the other day. It's all come flooding back again now
I'm definitely planning to visit there next month, and I think RickyD is too and maybe even little sammy. I'll keep you posted on the dates / times etc. _________________ Alan
