Well since its been decided to remove the rear seats in the Vit, we are going to do some interior work too.
#1 - remove both rear seats
#2 - patch up the rust on the offside rear arch
#3 - remove ALL carpets
#4 - replace carpets with one of two options; chequerplate or rubber lining (or rubber chequerplate)
#5 - attach new stereo and bass box (valentines present from Mik )
that'll be the 5 main points, I figured I'd go for chequerplate or rubber as the Vit will always be used for taking the dog into the woods for a walk, and it will also be used for runs to the dump and such.. so if I just resprayed it etc, it'll soon get scratched and ruined again, so I thought something durable would be best.
So far we havent really started, but its under the carport ready, and we managed to fold up the broken rear seat (wouldnt fold up before, the latch was broken holding it down). 16 years without the seats being removed has left the bolts quite stubborn and unwilling to move, but I've picked up my rachet set from work which should hopefully help remove them will try and take pics as work progresses. _________________ - Nick |

Aye with you on the rubber thing, once you get the bolts out that hold the seats and locking brackets in place cover them in copper slip and replace them.
I keep thinking of making a ridged tray to fit in the back tha extends over the rear footwells with a raise lip to keep things in place. _________________ There not canoes more of a snorkel and aero aid rolled into one |
