I have noticed that my power steering fluid is leaking. It's not a massive leak but enough to make me need to top it up every few days. Its not coming from the reservoir and if the thing I can see is the pump, as I think it is then it's not coming from there either. Which presumably means its coming from a pipe somewhere.

Is there anywhere in the power steering system that is prone to leaking? Its the GV 2.5 V6 if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi
Also check the rubber belows on the actual steering rack, the seals in the rack can fail and fill up the bellows with oil evertime the steering is used, depends on the leak , can take ages to notice, just something to think about if you cant see a physical leak. can be resealed, rechromed or replaced. cheers.

its rack not box there i think andy,

first place to check as said is the rack boots (rubber bellows) either side of the rack, if these are filled with fluid then its prob time for a new rack.

then go from there if theyre dry

ask them to put it up on the ramp and show you where the problem is.

if its just a leaky joint, it should be cured with a little ptfe tape and reconnectin. nice and cheap Very Happy
