I have a GV DDIS 2007 model.
In 2008 the engine suddenly went into maximum revs accompanied by clouds of smoke from the exhaust. I managed to get to the hard shoulder, but when I turned off the ignition the engine kept running at full pelt until it eventually ground to a halt.
Suzuki replaced the engine, but the same thing happened 3 weeks ago and it is now back at the dealer awaiting inspection from Suzuki UK.
Has any had or heard of similar problems with Suzuki turbo diesel engines?

did they give a reason why it did it before?

if not, youll be covered for 6 years anyway as theyve already replaced the engine for the same fault.

let us all know what went wrong and keep us informed of how you got on

They were a bit vague on the cause, only saying that it was a coolant problem. I think that coolant somehow got into the turbo system and the engine ran itself from that until there was none left.

it would have run on the oil but not the coolant...

be firm and ask them for the cause of the initial fault.

if they replaced the engine under warranty and the same problem happens again, its classed under an "inherent fault" and is covered under the sale of goods act for 6 years in england or 5 years in scotland
