Hi,ive bolted on an SU Hif44 and it ticks over sweetly but when i take it out on the road it seems as ifits holding back and does not pull well at all.

Ive never had experience of setting carbs up so wondered if you peeps could offer some advice Very Happy

Thanks

Yup,used power steering fluid as recommended by mechanic Very Happy

Undid dizzy bolt just now and turned it a tad to the left, and removed the impromptu air filter(one of my socks Embarassed )and it is much more responsive.

Still a fair ammount of black smoke, well when i say that i mean on the wall when i start it up,it doesnt spew smoke out, maybe the valve stem seals.

But i got me a colourtune thingy which ill try buggering about with at weekend to set up gasses etc etc.

Mai thing is is goes like a rocket now compared to standard carb Cool

All ready to drown it at whaddon in a months time Rolling Eyes

tbh it woud be hard to setup properly until it has a proper air filter, and any garage should be able to tune it for about £20 Very Happy.....
have you heard zocko has got power steering now  Laughing

easy way to set up an SU carb....

dress up as a carb and go rob a bank. when the cops beat down your door point to the carb and shout "IT WAS HIM!!!!!"
