Whats better for Off roading?

My 2000 Jimny is currentely fitted with a set of tired looking steel wheels and want to fit some alloy wheels from a later model Jimny. As they look more asthetically pleasing.
I only plan on doing mild off roading so wonder would the wheels stand up to going off road or would it be best to buy a set of new steel wheels.

If it's just mild off roading then the alloys should be okay.  I've seen a lot of warped alloys though, so if you want to be safe and not bankrupted - then go for steels, they're cheaper to replace. Very Happy
