Hi there, as a new member and new owner of a 2005 Jimny O2 1.3, I would like to know whether this engine is DOHC or SOHC?  Also I am led to believe that if it has a DOHC engine it has a timing chain, not a belt.

Can anyone help please

Thanks

Solomax29 Very Happy

Hi, pop the bonnet and have a look at the rocker cover, the DOHC has a black cover and i think may have written DOHC on it, or look at the pictures of engines for sale on Ebay, no sure if it has belt or chain though, the manual might be able to tell you.
cheers

Cheers anyway!

I am not sure about the  Jimmny-But most vehicles have a plastic timing cover if it is a timing belt and a Alli one if it is timing chain
