in the recent spell of cold weather it appears my water pump had frozen and caused the drivebet to break.  i have been to get a new one and am pretty confident in fitting etc.

when attempting to fit the drivebelt it was way too big,
at first i assumed i was given the wrong one but now im not sure, heres why...

The cam belt drives 2 pulleys, 1 connects to the alternator and fan and the other to power steering pump,

the one that broke is the alternator/fan belt.

ive been looking on the net and everyone i find that specifies it fits my vitara says its just 1 belt for them all???

does anyone know where i can get this belt

the car is a vitara jx 1.6 8v 2000

anyone have any ideas??

try gates belt number 4pk813

it should be the one for your alternator and water pump.

pas belt is prob the same sized belt too

are you sure the pas belt would be the same size as the alternator belt goes around 3 pulleys in total but the pas only 2??

its all down to the chassis number.

on the last of that shape, the 2 belts should be the same size but on the earlier ones, the pas belt is a 4pk738 i think
