Ive got the SJ bug big time and im on the look out for one.
Being new to the scene and unfamilar with the technical side ive been wondering can you leave the orignal shackles at the pre-factory setting to take off road and have the ground clearance,or will i have to put higher ones on.
If ive got this wrong i do apologies and i am as dumb as i sound ,but im trying to get all the info i can before (which is imminent) getting my hands on an sj any help off you chaps on finding one would be very much appreciated. |

SJs are incredibly capable in standard form, I don't know why people assume they need to be modified to go off road. Get some decent tyres for it and you'll be amazed. Also I hate extended shackes as they reduce your approach and departure angles as well as messing up your steering geometry, so I wouldn't go down that route personally
Use it first, then decide what mods you want to do (if any) . _________________

Some of the ones im looking at already have had the shackles changed and me personaly would have them lowered back to original spec.
Thanks for the advice......
I might just be on the verge of laying my hands on an SJ starting to get rather excited.... |
