tried starting the vit engine yesterday but found there was no fuel being pumped so i thought it may be airlocked, WRONG the rod in the engine that presses the fuel pump is not moving freely, so the options are pull the engine out so i can remove the cam and see whats going on OR fit an electric fuel pump. i really want to keep it as standard as poss so if im out and something breaks i can get a new one easily..... so i think im gonna pull the engine. any thoughts? |

Hey mate, great looking beast's and awsome mods, the 1.6 wil be wicked when its going. Can you not remove the fualty fuel pump and plunger without removing the engine?sit it in a bucket of diesel overnight to free off! If not, maybe the electric pump is the way to go, no hard to fit, theyr no expensive off Ebay, buy two, keep one for spare! can be used to imobilise the engine also! |

you should be able to get the plunger pin out with molegrips, if you do, just clean it off and lube it up before reseating it.
itll prob be just gummed up with a little rust from sitting about without oil _________________ the car in front is a toyota...
the car pulling it out of the mud is a suzuki |
