92 vit gearing plz help

hi all just got the wifes vit so its time to start playing in the mud again but first i need tyres.
thinking of getting some 31x10.5x15 but befor i get them that big can anyone tell me if they will change my gearing and ifso for good or bad.

Yes it'll affect your gearing, you're looking at an overall diameter difference of something like 13% from the standard 195/80R15s. You'll find you won't be able to crawl as slowly in 1st Low (not so good on really rough stuff) and it'll run out of power on the road more quickly in 5th (lower engine revs for the same road speed) so you'll find yourself changing down for hills more often Laughing . It'll also accelerate a bit slower but that doesn't matter so much.

Also be aware that for the same speedo reading you'll actually be going 13% faster than you are now, so watch out for those speed cameras!!!

hi, i ran 31" tyres on our vit and never found them a problem apart from the spedo being out a bit Very Happy

is there any way of putting the gearing back. Is there parts from a diffrent modle like a diesel maybe bandhead
