hiya,new here.just got my first sj.had to do a lot of welding to start,now the body is sorted there is a kinda vibration at certain revs.i know the diff needs replacing as it is a bit noisy but can that cause the vibration too?

Yeah I'm sure it could, but so could loads of other things. Can you describe this vibration a bit more? Is it only when you're under power? Does it make any difference what gear you're in? 2WD or 4WD? Any info will be useful.

it does it wen i accellerate,but today i drove it a few miles and it seemed a bit better,its almost like a missfire,wonder if plugs/leads need changing??

Yeah I've had a wicked vibration under acceleration that was caused by a misfire, new plugs and a general service / clean up solved that. Also check the universal joints on the propshafts (don't forget the small shaft between the gearbox and the transfer box).
