do i need to sand all the 'lacka' off first before putting the primer on or can i just pain over?

youll get a much better finish if you put in the hard work and rub it down properly.

its the old addage: doing it properly isnt doing the easy way

if your gonna prime it then best ti take all the paint off, back to bare metal.  Shocked

that, more often than not, opens a can of worms though. best bet is to go over it all with 400 grit sandpaper(or even a scotchbrite pad) and just take the shine off, no need to take the lacker right off, just make sure as zocko said, to rub it down properly, no shine what so ever.

if your not in too much of a rush, il take some pics of the process on a bmw im doing at work next week and post it up for you.  Wink
