Recently picked up a 94 Vit.  Loads of history, engine replaced with new short block from Suzuki in 97, I have all original invoices.  I've looked all over the engine but can't find the engine number. Talked to original Suzuki supplier who said it should be there somewhere! Really helpfull.  Questions I have: When a new short block is purchased from Suzuki, does it have a number on it, if so where will I find it?

This was the first place I looked.  All clean, no numbers and no evidence that there has been one.  The main question I suppose is do new short engines from Suzuki come with a number or should the local dealer number them up?

Looks like its going to give me trouble this, a couple of us were hoping to drive it over to Cyprus and import it, but need all the numbers intact for the customs inspection.

Thinking of going down that route but its got to be perfect.  Don't want the customs guys picking it up when we've managed to get all that way!

Yeh I guess so. There's always a chance I'd meet a 'jobs worth' though!
