Hi Folks,

I am a total Newb, but long term member on Pistonheads.  My petrol-based qualifications include Caterham ownership and track day addiction.

A big Hello!

The main reason for joining is to seek some advice/help from you good people.

My Father in Law lives in Kenya, and is the owner of a Kenyan Market 1992 3 door Vitara.

Unfortunately, the Steering box has packed up and his Kenyan mechanics have been unable to source a replacement in Africa.

He has asked me for help in trying to source one in the UK, and this has led me to these forums, as the parts places I have found have not been able to help.

I believe the car has manual (not power) steering, and my FiL thinks the part number is 48600 6DA21.

Failing that, he is coming back to the UK in September, and bringing the part with him.  If we cant replace it, do you know if and where we might be able to get it reconditioned?  When in the UK, he is based in the North East, but can travel!

Many thanks for your help,

Kind regards

JakeR
