my 2002 diesel vitara has been having problems stopping when I turn left.

it started some time ago with the engine not pulling and the engine management light comming on.  main dealing tried changing accelerator electrics, 3 tims.  ran for a while but the fault came back.

now it stops,  starts after a couple of tries.  EM light goes out after a couple or so trips.  lasts about 90 miles and stops again.

new fuel pump made it run better but did not sort it out.  Fuel tank has been checked cleaned.

two garges no solution.  fault code is  P0230

any thoughts please? Sad

P0230 = Fuel Pump Primary Circuit

I love these fault codes, they're more a tease than a definition! Rolling Eyes

Gotta be an electrical fault, something shorting? bad earth?.. strange it's only when you turn left... loose connection? water getting in somehwere?

think it could be a steering rack part moving a dodgy wire?

next time it happens i think id straighten up the steering and seeif it starts better.

best of luck Wink

does it happen when just started or once the cars been running a while?

might be the steering column knocking something about in the dash.

id remove the plastic covers from around the steering column and the lower dash and have a look, and a look at the ignition switch.

they can cause a lot of problems im sure Wink

after much cost and a lot a time the fault has been fixed.

Starting was improved when the main fuel filter was changed.  The old one was so blocked the air line couln,t push air though. but when the injectors were checked with a hot engine two were found to be faulty.

When checked cold no problem.  when hot they were letting fuel go straight back to the tank.  this gave low or no pressure at the fault to EMU hence the problem.  Cost of two new injectors no problem since.  Very Happy  except paying my credit off for all the other work. Crying or Very sad   check the injectors hot save £3000. Idea

good luck
