|
|
After two years thinking about the idea of liftting my Grand Vitara i´m like the first day, i don´t know how to do it
The front suspension is Mcpherson so there isn´t anything for that, just piers +4 that in Spain are ilegal.
About the rear suspension i´ve been talking with many people with +4 and they are very disappointed with Köni, the other brands are very expensive and almost all of them ilegal.
Does anyone have a Grand Vitara (2006) with +4??? I don´t know what to do to lift it.
Regards,
Jorge |

So front lift is illegal but you're thinking about doing just the back? Are you going to use this beasty off road Jorge or is it just for "the look"? _________________

I´m going to use it off-road, let me explain it better.
I´ve got a Grand Vitara 2006 and here is my problem:
I would want to lift it because with the protection is just 18-19 centimetres high from the ground, so it drags the basis in most off-road tracks,
The front suspension is McPherson and no one have made a kit for change the dampers, the only way to lift the front susension is to put +4 piers (this kind of piers are
not approved to the Grand Vitara in Spain but people paint them in black to camouflage and there is no problem). The problem is that if i change just the piers the range of the suspension doesn´t increase, by this way i´ll only lift the car.
The rear suspension is easier but it´s still causing problems. The rear piers are the same that in the front (not aprroved but if i paint them in black no one will tell me anything about them). And there are some brands for the rear dampers that are traded in Spain but there are only two or three legal, one of them is "Köni" and all of the people i know are very disappointed with them and the others are the "Kayaba" and the "Bilstein", this ones are very expensive so i would want an opinion before get them.
SUMMARY: I want a better off-roader and my problem is that in the front i just can put +4 piers but there isn´t anything for the front dampers so it only lift the car but the range of suspension still be the same, and for the rear suspension i would want an opinion for the "Kayaba" and the "Bilstein".
Thanks a lot
Kind regards
Jorge |

I am talking about the ends where they mount to your axle and chassis with either a ring on the end or a threaded pin
My mate has lifted his GV I will have a word with him |

if you get under the car is the bottom of the shock absorber a (ring) held on by a bolt and the top of the shock absorber a (pin) held on by a nut. or is it ring both ends or pin both ends |
