Am I right in saying that 2" offset rims will increase the wheelbase width by 2" on each side, in other words, 4" wider in total?
Spring over axle should be rather easy, only modification will be to extend the propshaft? |

yeah 2" each side and you would need a propspacer |

O, so you don't actually make the props longer, you manufacture a spacer? |

If you put the offset rims, and then go springs over axle, doesn't it defeat the purpose of making the wheelbase wider, cause you've gone wider, but also up? So you are back where you started, a vehicle that falls over easily? |

to do the spring over axel ull need new saddles for the springs to sit on but these are easily made from 2" x 2" box section. ull also need to reposition brake line mounts as well as prop spacer. pretty easy for any1 with the smallest engineering knowledge. good luck bud. |

Yeah but you have more ground clearance AND can fit bigger tyres giving even more |

Good morning,i have just had a spring over axle conversion done on my sammy and am going to get it in a minute when my hangover has subsided, ive a set of 16" tractor tyres on rims waiting to go on if i can keep it together long enough to do it today and i am also on the verge of buying some wheel spacers to give 4" extra width, ill let you know the difference as i only been offroading in it once and it was all standard 2 weeks ago on 15" rims and road tyres,it did very well though and am expecting great things by jacking it up 6"
Just hope it dont roll over on the roundabouts _________________ Ive created a monster............. |
