Can anyone tell me what are the correct spark plugs to use in a 1992 single point injection 8 valve 1600 vitara engine??

Are they NGK BRP5ES or BRP6ES, cos I had the 6ES's in my engine before they were replaced, but on the underside of the bonnet it says about the 5ES's but the haynes says to use the 6ES's!!!

Also I was wondering by running the 6ES spark plugs would that make the car use more fuel?? Surely not??

I have a good set of 5ES's so if they are the correct ones I'll put them in.

One last thing what should the gap be??

ok, bpr6es vs bpr5es...

the 5 is a hotter running plug and will burn fuel more efficiently.

this will give youbetter fuel economy and power but it will also put more strain on a tired engine so its a point you have to balance and decide on yourself.

good luck and let us know how you get on
