Can anyone tell me the measurements inside the back of a Vitara (1992 type model) from the back of the front seats to the rear door? I'm thinking of buying one and wondered if our bikes would fit in the back. Also is tax more expensive with it being a 4 wheel drive or not?

Thanks guys!

im not sure of measurement for a 5 door but if its a soft top your after no way for bikes! insurance well most vitaras of 92 were 1.6 so not ridiculous as for the bikes you can get a carrier that will hang of the spare wheel Cool

The "4X4 tax" is a myth! On cars newer than March 2001 the tax goes on emissions, on cars older than 2001 it goes on engine size, only 2 bands, less than 1550cc and over 1550cc. As a Vit is 1.6 it'll be in the higher band which is about £185 a year at the moment, not too bad.

Don't know the dimensions but I doubt you'd get a bike in the back of a short wheel base Vit without taking the wheels off Confused

Oh thats good news, are the vitara's constantly in 4 wheel drive or does it need 'switching on'. Sorry, not
owned one before!

I thought the wheel would need taking off, would the frame and rear wheel fit in straight or not even that?

How much bigger is a Vit than a Sammy? I'd have to take the both wheels off a mountain bike to get it in the Sammy with the rear seats removed.  Embarassed

Get a LWB Vit??? Confused
