I am a brand new member having recently bought a SWB samurai, have owned them before but decided to go the whole hog and buy a donor vehicle. I am trying to fit a hard top in place of the soft top it came with.
I'm not really sure which bits I am supposed to remove first to get it to fit. The wife has told me I had better get advice cos she not gonna help me anymore especially as it's lifted 6  inches and she can't reach the top !

Any help gratefully received!!!
Cheers

Hiya mate, welcome to the club.

Which hard top have you got?

If it's the same as mine you only need to remove the strip along the top of the windscreen frame that the soft top slides into. Some of the hard tops require the fitting of extra clips on the roll hoop. Other than that you should be able to bolt it straight on.

Hi

Have you work your hard top problem out?

I've just fitted mine for the winter. Took a load of picks thought I'd do a write up on fitting one. But all do seem to be different, It all depends on how perminat the top is, Some just clip on where others are bolted and screw to the Jeep with verious fixings.

Mine is the top with sun roof and steped beck and the rear window bolts to the door with rear heater and window wiper.
I used to have a very flimsy one which clipped onto the jeep and the rear window hinged up after you opened the rear door

the other top I've seen is a two part job with a seperate roof over the front seats and a complete rear which fits on the back.

If your stuck Let us Know Wink
