When i take my sj off road and i'm climbing a slope the engine starts to cut out and i need to dip the clutch and pump the throttle to stop it dying on me which is a pain when your have way up a bumpy hill. the car is a 413 with a webber carb. is this a common problem with carbs? or is it just mine? it doesn't happen on the flat at all. all so mine has a spoa conversion and is really bouncy and some times even does a bunny hop or wheelie when climbing a bumpy sloap are all sj's this bouncy? cheers guys

Your cutting out problem is the weber mate, very common issue with the weber. Mine also does it but I can't say it's ever bugged me enough to make me want to mess about with it.

There are various fixes floating around along the lines of blocking off one hole and drilling another one, try googling it, but by far the most common fix appears to be to remove the carb and throw it at next door's dog, then fit an SU instead Confused

I'm a bit retro and always wanted a weber carb (preferably fitted to a capri or something similar) when I was younger, so now I've got one I'm keeping it Laughing  Laughing
