has anyone ever fitted a 1.6 8v vitara engine to an sj if so i need help the starter motor has damaged the fly wheel  i am using a bosch starter motor from a 1.3 sj the fly wheel also came from an sj vehicle is 1992 engine came from 1990 vitara

I think you need to fit the vit starter and fly wheel. Have a look on rocky_road the give some info.

Should be staight forward 1600 vit engine conversion plate to mount 1300 engine. sump redisigned new engine mounts and a electic fuel pump

cannot fit vit flywheel as flywheel is too big and wont fit into sj gear box i already have the conversion plate fitted i made the engine mounts up myself just out of interest the modified sump was not needed as vehicle has a 2 inch bodylift fitted
