is it possible that a 970cc camshaft could have been put into my 1300cc engine ?
because the distributor drives are out of line and the cam shaft has a bit of extra shaft on the end. When i first got it the distributor was only just meshing with the gear on the camshaft so the engine was running but then it stopped and we discoverd that the distributor isnt turning.
any help please !

stripped it right out and now have realise that the end gear on the camshaft that runs the distributor is actually only pressed on and has slid its self up the shaft ?! bit wierd but i have managed to knock it back down to its place again and am going to be putting it all back together soon ! apart from the fact that when i done a comprsion test there was very low compresion on cylinder number 2 so had a look at that and it has no or very little piston rings left so i have to replace them !!
