I have a full soft top roof.  Can this easily be changed to a 'bikini' soft top roof?  It looks easier to put the soft top down in the summer than the one I have.

Hiya

Are you sure you want a bikini top? It's just a cover over the cab area and is completely open at the back (you can see mine in my avatar), it's literally there just to stop you from getting sunburned on the 3 nice days we have in the UK each year. As for fitting one however, it's dead easy.

Mine's made by Monsoon 4X4, take a look here for more info.

It simply looks easier to have a foldaway cover than the all-in-one that i have.  I took it off last week for the first time since I had it and it was so hard to put back on - it definitely needs a man to do it so it would be wasted on me.

Ah now that's a different thing, you can get proper foldaway tops for vitaras but they're very expensive...

I'm assuming it's a MK1 vitara. The foldaway top is the bottom one on this page, with the bikini being the top one and the standard top in the middle...

Yeah the folding one on that website will fit it, but that's a hell of a lot of money (athough that does include everything that's needed and fitting).

The bikini top on there will also fit it but, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think that's what you want. It really is just a sunshade, as far as security and protection from the elements goes you might as well not have a top at all on it....
