I have found (after a flat) that most of the tyres on my Santana Samurai are well past their sell-by date and need replacing.

The problem is that that particular size (205/70R15) are expensive (ca. 130 euro each).  Is there a more popular (and cheaper) fitment that does not require speedo recalibration (i.e. no more than 10% change either way)?

195R15 (195/80R15) is standard size on an SJ.

This link will help you to calculate the differences.

When I bought my sammy she had 225/60R15s on, now she has 215/80R15s.... 11.4% Laughing

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Normally (here in Spain) the tyre size is on the ficha técnica, but I'm still waiting for the document transfer to go through and therefore have nothing to refer to.

I assume the narrower tyre also improves fuel economy?
