Hi again,

I know that a company called PI Springs used to do lowering springs for these and they were quite cheap if that helps.

Not too sure about cutting them Im afraid.

Another option from a few years back was to clamp the coils of the spring. I cant remember who made the kit but it was a universal kit suplied in car accessorie shops. I think it was aimed at the poor boy racer.

Just a thought  Idea

well i proposed that to a few mates and was told not to do it as it doesn`t really help you in having a great ride apart from it damaging your car on the long run

Cutting coils out of the springs to lower a car is a common trick in the Hot Rod circles. And as long as you dont go mad is fine. Just do a bit at a time  Wink

BUT why would you want to lower a 4x4  Question  Rolling Eyes

Im trying to lower a 4x4 as its gunna be used for show car events.

you can fit a lot of ICE into a large square 4x4 compared to a tiny corsa of fiesta or others like that.

Im looking at a set of 20" alloys on 255 45 profiles.

Im currantly making a custom bodykit (im designing it and a local fiberglass company are gunna mould it for me)

seen a 4.3 Vortex engine to go in it and a local metal company are gunna make me a "Y" joint to turn the exhast into twins plan on two 5 inch back boxes (gunna be loud)

the interia is gunn ahave a complete overhall from colours to carpets.

the windows have alraeady been tinted limo black and when the bodykit is finished its gunn ahave a complete spray job in flip paint with multicolour mirror flake.

on hot rod is ok, even if its a sunday drive car, hehe but my thoughts went to a trimmed springs experience on an offroad vehicle, as there trimmed springs tend to loose spring and send a lot of unneccessary vibrations to the whole body of the car, although i know you already said you`re not made of money, if you`re building a show car i`ld invest in a set of lowering springs anyway

If your going to fill it with ICE you might not need lowering springs  Laughing

I would agree with that, wait till you have all your ice installed and see what height it sinks to  Wink
