Sammy axles are indeed just under 2" wider than a SJ410/413.
Never herd of sammy axles being weaker infact there more popular due to the extra width.
When they updated the sj to the sammy it was to help with the tippy uppy effect when cornering at speed.

Don`t forget though, an sj410/413 axle that has the transmition brake instead of the rear drum brake,
is easier for a rear disk conversion !  Wink

Hmm have read the above I want to know.......
How easy is a SJ410 Rear Disc Brake Conversion?

Could it be as simple as sustituting 410 front brakes on to a 410 rear axle Rolling Eyes
