That looks really good Ozzy  Cool

I was in two minds about doing an SPOA to mine as I use it for trials and the guys do like to set up the courses with some extreme sideslip angles  Twisted Evil  so i was worried about putting the CofG too high. I like the fact there's more axle articulation though so it might be a fair trade off  Wink

Take a look at this zuke. Gets quite a lot of flex with SPOA. Met these guys at the same quarry some time ago, followed them over some pretty rough stuff, never seemed too close to tipping over. It is a sammy though, slightly wider axles. I should be going to this quarry at the weekend, I'll let you know how I get on

Oh yeah, the link

Do they still open Wildmoor for pay n play days then, thought it had closed down. The only people I know to who used to have it is 4x4funday but not anymore.
Would like to go if it's still open

Have you been to Farley quarry near Much Wenlock? Best site I've been to yet.
I should be there at the next open day on 19th August all being well. I need to do a little work on the zuke before then but with hols, etc. not much time. Maybe see you there if you fancy it.

Hi mate,

What size are the tyres on your Sammy? Looking at Spring over axle on my own sammy and not sure about what tyres to use.

Currently got 195/80x15 Greenway alligators on her, do you reckon they would work with a Spring over axle?

Hi mate,
They're 215x15 diamond backs, slightly bigger diameter than yours I think, about 1" I guess. They should be OK though but with SPOA but there is loads of room for bigger tyres. I had these on before I did the SPOA but I  think they are big enough, still got the 1000cc engine in it, think I'd need something a bit bigger with larger tyres......that's the next job when I've got a minute, got a pug 1.9 diesel sitting in the garage.
If you need any help doing the SPOA give us a shout, fairly easy job really, hardest bit is modding the shock mounts and bump stops.

oooo that makes the diamiter of your tires the same as my own............ and they look great with yours to be bluntly honest! I will definately have a closer look at the spring over axle now!

Do you think they are easier to tip over on very steep decents? Thats one thing that i dont want to loose with my jeep. its stability on steep hills up and down,

what you reckon mate? Cheers for the reply  Laughing
