i did archery from age 13 to age 25.

i used to have a teaching certificate as well many moons ago.

i could brag.......................................................................................

in fact i will.

under 16
london county champion
surrey county champion
middlesex county champion.
sussex county champion.

under 18
london
middlesex county champion

as an adult i made grand master bowman
second in the surrey championships.

i think thats about it.

i did score at the European champion ships one year
and did the flag carrier for the finish team.

Tried it and loved it, then saw the cost of a bow etc....

An old mate has a company making them, Borders area iirc, he used to be quite good if memory serves.

I must admit, I always preferred a gun, but do agree the skill is in a bow.

I tried it and my father won a bow, but haven't got time to practise it at the moment.

I used to be Vice Chairmad of a local Archery club.

We shot once a week locally and I used to do national competitions with GNAS.

I have a Hoyt Gold Medalist (recurve) and all the bits but havn't used it in 6 years. Reading this thread makes me want to go out and do it again.

I found it very relaxing and exciting at the same time.

If you've never tried it , I would definately recommmend it   Cool

I'm a current NFAS member, avid archer, master craftsman arrowsmith and fletcher, string maker, I shoot 3D Hunting Tackle 40 times a year all over the East Midlands/Anglia
