Which type of SU carb is a straight fit onto a Suzuki SJ 970cc inlet manifold?
Presume a 1000cc Mini 1 1/2 SU would work pretty well.......
Anyone have any idea what needle type works best?

Ta Simon

I've also found an article on suzukiclubuk that shows an adapter plate needed to sort out bolt pattern differences and cable connections . . . .

AND found this pic of an HIF38 on an American Mini Tuning Website
and they ONLY want $325 for a fully rebuilt one..Shocked

this is probably a dumbassed question to ask but what differences can you expect from fitting a webber or SU carb to a 410? if it sounds worthwhile it might be a consideration for later on

The main reason was always to replace the over complicated Asian carb's but for me this is only an issue on the 413's and sammys. I have found the 410 to be ultra reliable, I have had my 410 for over ten years and its clocked up well over 100,000 with no carb probs. Apparently the std carbs also start to splutter on steep inclines/decents but again I have never experianced this.

ahh right then. i might leave it then seen as i have a 410. if it aint bust dont fix it. is there a difference between the santana and the 410? because mine has SJ410 badges on the sides but a santana badge on the radiator grill. does that mean its just a spanish built 410?
