I've asked people about this before and they say that it made no difference whatsoever.

I've used it in my 1985 SJ413 when the petrol in the tank has been unused for some months - just to give it a bit of a pep. It seems to run more smoothly but it may be my imagination - certainly it hasn't caused any problems.

I used Redex a lot in the days when bikes and cars had carbs rather than injection and computers, and catalysts. It did help to clean the carbs and remove some of the varnish and general crud that built up. It was applied neat into the air intake, as advised on the packaging rather that being put in the tank. I would be a bit windy of using anything that might harm the cat these days! I have used their injector cleaner though and it did seem to make a little difference, but then I might just be trying to justify spending the money!

Ive had Suzuki's for a number of years (Samurai, Jx's and a 2004 GV TD) and now am on the second JX.  I have always put Redex in petrol and occasionally drop some into the mouth of the carb.
I'm never really sure whether it does more good to engine or to me!! Very Happy , but I still add it.
